A polite template for checking on your application status.

If you have not heard back after about a week, a short follow-up is acceptable.

Template

Dear [Name], I recently applied for the [Role] position and wanted to check on the status of my application. I remain very interested and would be glad to share any additional information. Thank you for your time. Regards, [Your Name]

Tips

  • Keep it under 80 words
  • Mention the role and date you applied
  • Add one new piece of value, such as a project link or a relevant update
  • Stay polite even if you do not get a reply
