How to Write a Resume as a Fresher

Updated 28 September 2026 2 min read By LaunchCV.in

A clear structure for a one-page fresher resume, even without work experience.

Recruiters spend seconds on a first look, so a fresher resume should be clean, one page and focused on what you can do.

  1. Name and contact details with a professional email
  2. Short summary of two lines
  3. Education
  4. Projects
  5. Skills
  6. Internships, certifications and achievements

Tips

  • Use simple fonts and headings.
  • Start each bullet with an action verb.
  • Include links to GitHub or portfolio.

You can build one for free with our Resume Builder.

Before and after: a project bullet

Before: Made a website for attendance.

After: Built a PHP and MySQL attendance system for 60 students with login, daily entry and monthly reports, replacing a paper register.

The second version names the technology, the scale and the result. Rewrite each of your bullets this way: action, what, how much and outcome.

A sample section order in detail

Contact line with LinkedIn and GitHub links, a two-line summary, education with year and grade, two or three projects with links, a skills block grouped by type, then internships, certifications and achievements if you have them. Leave out anything that does not help this specific application.

Common questions

Should a fresher resume include a photo?

For most jobs in India a photo is not needed. Follow the employer instructions if they ask for one.

What if I have no projects?

Build one small project this week, or include coursework, competitions and volunteering, and be ready to discuss what you learned.
