One-Page or Two-Page Resume: Which Should You Use?

Updated 28 September 2026 1 min read By LaunchCV.in

A simple rule for choosing resume length.

For freshers and people with under five years of experience, one page is usually best. Keep it focused on the most relevant content.

Two pages can make sense for senior professionals with many relevant roles, publications or projects. If you go to two pages, make sure the second page is meaningfully full and that the strongest content stays on page one.

Space-saving without shrinking the font

  • Use font sizes between 10 and 12 points for body text
  • Combine education details on one line
  • Limit bullets to two lines each
  • Remove objectives that repeat your summary

If you must cut, drop the oldest and least relevant content first.

Common questions

Is two pages ever better?

For experienced professionals with many relevant roles, yes. Keep the strongest content on page one.

How do I fit everything on one page?

Cut older or irrelevant items, shorten bullets and use consistent spacing rather than tiny fonts.
