Why interviewers ask this
The interviewer wants a clear, evidence-based reason to choose you over other candidates.
How to approach it
Match two or three of your strengths to the job description and support each with a specific example.
Example answer
The role needs someone who can build reliable web features. I have shipped two deployed projects, I write documentation, and I learn new tools quickly. For example, I learned Git in a week to collaborate on my team project.
What a weak answer sounds like
Because I need a job and I will work very hard.
It is vague, has no example and gives the interviewer nothing to remember.
Common mistake
Claiming you are the best without any proof.
Follow-up questions to expect
- What would you do in your first 30 days?
- How do you know you can handle this role?
- What is one skill you still need to build for this job?
How to practise
Take the job description, underline three requirements and write one proof from your own experience for each.
Use this as a pattern, not a script. Answer in your own words with your own examples.
